| Buying notes | The company who are handling the payment and delivery of this product are ClickBank. This is a company I've spent a lot of money with over the years and they're very professional. They also have good support. No problems there. | |||||||
| First impressions | Very nice. Registry Toolkit uses the exact same design theme as Windows XP. It's got a clean, fresh, modern interface with familiar icons and a simple left navigation panel. I was also impressed with the price. It's about $5 cheaper than the usual $30 most registry repair tools cost. | |||||||

| What I liked |
Incredibly easy to use
Registry software tends to be very easy to use but I noticed with this tool that it was literally a one-click process to get the first scan underway. It looks great too and has a lot of useful on-screen information to help you along. Creates full backups automatically You don't have to do anything to create backups. Registry Toolkit does it all for you. I did a test and managed to restore from a backup easily. Built in optimization tools This was a real surprise. As this software is about $5 more than most of it's competitors, I was wondering if there was anything that would justify the price tag. Wow - you click on Advanced and there's a HUGE array of really powerful system optimization tools. Advanced system tools It's like four programs in one. You get a great Uninstall manager, a startup list manager (which I used to remove some junk programs that were starting up when I turned my computer on) and a special tool to backup Internet Explorer. As well as a Browser Helper Object Manager (which I've not tested yet). |

| What I didn't like |
Missed loads of errors
I ran this tool over and over, on computers that I know had a lot of errors, and the results were always the same - a low number of problems were found. I even ran it side by side with some of the other tools to compare it. It misses some pretty simple errors that the other tools pick up on. User manual a little short The help manual could have been a little more extensive. That said there's some great help and tips built cleverly into the interface. So this isn't a huge problem. And the tool's so easy to use I can't imagine many people actually clicking 'help'. No scheduler There's no way to set the tool to make backups at a set time. This can be handy if you're like me and a little forgetful. No way to delete empty registry keys / defrag the registry A good registry tool needs a way to compact the registry after it's finished scanning, repairing and deleting. I couldn't find any features here to do this job. |

| The verdict | Registry Toolkit really does look the part and seems to work well on the surface. But after extensive testing I found that it really didn't keep up with some of the more thorough products on the market. Save your money on this one and opt for a tool that fixes more problems. | |||||||
