What I liked | Very ease to use
A very easy-to-use bit of kit here with nothing to trip you up. There's a juicy set of 'Advanced Settings' if you really want to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in. But for the average user, like me, it's a case of clicking a couple of simple buttons to get the scan under way. Finds and fixes a high number of problems On tests this software finds the largest number of errors and also takes the longest to run. It looks and feels like it's doing a more aggressive, thorough job than some of it's competition. I tested it on 3 different machines and on each it found almost double the number of problems some other tools did. Defragment your registry for greater performance Another great tool in Registry First Aid is the 'Defragment Registry' tool. This optimizes and compacts the registry for greater speed. I was blown away by how much it optimized my registry. Some areas were reduced by a whopping 97%. My computer really has gotten out of shape over the years. |

What I didn't like |
No scheduler
One thing that would have made this product even better would have been a way to schedule scans automatically. While it's not a huge negative point, and running manual scans isn't very difficult to do, it would have been handy. No startup manager I see this as a really important part of any good registry tool. All the little programs that load up when Windows starts are controlled by the registry. So it's vital that you are able to edit them. This product would have been much better if it had one built in. Extra tools aren't that useful to average users You also get two registry management tools built in: Search the Registry, and Registry snapshots. These are aimed at the more technical user and while they might be useful, something more simple would have been better for non-techies like me. |

The verdict | The thing that's really great about this software is that it really does find and repair a massive number of registry problems. On tests it out-performed many other tools on this front. I'd definitely recommend this tool as it's one of the more aggressive, thorough ones on the market. | ||||||
